Raye's Hill 2004 Pinot Blanc, Hein Family Vineyard

Vineyard Notes:
Raye’s Hill 2003 Anderson Valley Pinot Blanc was produced with fruit grown on the south facing slope of the Hein Family Vineyard. Warren and Claudia Hein have a renowned vineyard that produces some of the finest Pinot Noir in the valley. They also dedicated a small portion of the vineyard to a variety that they thought was well suited to the regiment of cool morning fog and warm sunny days. With fond memories of both French and German Pinot Blanc, about an acre of this fruit was planted- the first for this varietal in Anderson Valley. Pinot Blanc is a separate and distinct varietal from Pinot Noir, the only similarity being their affinity for cool growing climates.

Winemaker Tasting Notes:
The Pinot Blanc has a wonderful pineapple and fresh grass aroma with flavors of pear, pineapple and honeydew. This is a food friendly wine and would pair well with fish, chicken or just enjoy it while watching the sun set on a warm summer evening.
