Stubbs Vineyard 2004 Estate Pinot Noir$36.00 -- Marin CountyPurchase Stubbs Vineyard 2004 Estate Pinot Noir
Just a few miles inland from Tomales bay, Stubbs' vines are planted in a valley surrounded by steeply rising hills. This topography and location provides a unique microclimate for the fruit which results in a long, cool growing season, and in a long hang time for the fruit. The fruit is quite intense, and is pleasingly high in acidity. The soil profile is moderately fertile and is mostly decomposed marine sedimentary material and Haire loam. "The perfect clones for our terroir."
Winemaker Tasting Notes: Our 2004 Marin County Estate Grown Pinot Noir is a lush wine, with flavors of lively blackberry and cherry, a hint of cinnamon spice, soft and sweet tannins, and a rich palate. It is an elegant but full wine with focused acidity, good balance, texture and length. It lingers on the palate, revealing creamy vanilla, nutmeg, and a touch of wood characters on the finish. |
