Volker Eisele 2003 Terzetto

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes:
The 2003 vintage Volker Eisele Terzetto is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot all in equal proportions. The vineyard is organically farmed, and has been since 1974. The grapes were all harvested on the same day and co-fermented (together in the same tank) This wine was barrel aged in 50% new French oak to enhance the prevalent aromas of complex black fruit and sweet toasty oak. The flavors are ripe, soft and enticing. Drinkable now, but will go well due to its pedigree.

Winemaking Notes:
Due to rigorous thinning, the long, cool growing season, and the harvesting of only mature ripe clusters, tannins, fruit, and acidity are robust and interactive with a resulting complexity. Thus, all of the Estate wines are full flavored and can be enjoyed alone or with food for an enhanced dining experience. Winemaker John McKay, has 30 years of experience in the Napa Valley, and has worked with Eisele grapes for over 10 years.
