Tasting Notes:
Our Bel Rosso is produced in the traditional style of a Loire Valley Chinon ( without oak) and also displays the evolving style of Cabernet Franc on the North Fork. Merlot from younger vines provides an added fruity dimension with lots of strawberry and red raspberry on the nose. Fermented exclusively in stainless steel at 65 degrees F. to retain the bright aromatics with 50% whole berries. Lively flavors reminiscent of cherry, violets and red fruit dominate making our Bel Rosso an elegant red wine. Bel Rosso is meant to be enjoyed young and is capable of complimenting any cuisine.
Vintage Notes:
The 2003 vintage was somewhat cooler with more rainfall than we have had during the last 3 seasons. The result was favorable for our lighter style red Bel Rosso as the cooler weather in the fall allowed greater retention of aromatics in the fruit.
