Vineyard Notes:
This Vineyard-designated wine is made solely with fruit from the Wightman House Vineyard of Susan and Michael Addison. The Addison’s retired to the valley 10 years ago and planted this two-acre vineyard which is located on the
Anderson valley floor in Boonville. Wightman is the name of the original owners of this property. Wightman House Pinot Noir is entirely Martini Clone, which was first introduced into the valley by pioneering champagne makers. The grapes were picked September 27th and cold soaked (steeped) for three days before fermentation. Twelve days later they were gently pressed and put into French Oak barrels for 16 months, the wine was bottled in February 2005.
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
The confluence of wonderful weather and location has resulted in a complex wine with clear garnet color, aroma of ripe red fruit and flavors of strawberry and cherry.
