Appearance Always quite dark purple.
Aroma Lilac perfume, smoked sage, light hints of strawberry.
Flavor Floral elements, weediness and a sweet core of boysenberry fruit, finishing with an intriguing cigar ash minerality. One of the few Noirets that delivers density on the palate promised in the appearance.
Balance Moderate to high acidity, low alcohol, good minerality.
PRODUCTION CORRELATIONS
Viticultural Very winter tolerant.
Terroir High latitude, long summer days, moderating lake effect prevents winter kill, moderates temprature, and creates wind that dries vines. Well-drained benches 500-1,200 feet.
