Aroma Leather, grilled plum, nutmeg, thyme, mustard and tar. Rosewater, plum, strawberry and dried grass.
Flavor Buttery, dry, with nice framing tannins and decent acidity. Moderate tannins, full plum jam flavors supplemented by oak vanilla and coffee.
Balance Low in acidity for steaks on a hot summer day. Substantial alcohol.

Hot, rising Palm Desert air to the East daily pulls cooling air from the Pacific 18 miles West through the Rainbow Gap in the coastal mountains.
