A Note About Rosé:
What wine goes well with warm weather and just about every food imaginable? Dry rosé, of course. They figured this out in Southern France eons ago, and Americans - not ones to be left in the dust - have more recently come to the same conclusion. That's why Californian winemakers Jeff Morgan and Daniel Moore decided to make SoloRosa - “only rosé.”
Winemaker Tasting:
Late in the harvest, we discovered a small treasure trove of ultra-ripe
Napa Valley Sangiovese more suitable for a late-harvest style than for our classic dry style. We made only 3 barrels of this sweet, heady stuff and bottled it in half-bottles - perfect as an apéritif or dessert!
This is a rich, plush wine framed by exotic spice notes redolent of cinnamon, clove, and star anise. At its core lie sweet, fruity cherry and strawberry notes balanced nicely with bright-edged orange zest.
Food Pairing Notes:
SoloRosa rosé also has the kind of class that allows to fit easily into a far more refined setting, pairing well with seafood, spice, fine sauces, poultry, game, and other red meats as well. Dare we say that it goes well with just about anything? In a word, yes!
