Q: Are you an online retailer? Or a Winery?

A: No. We are a content-based Web site that does not hold any wine inventory, nor produce wines. When it comes to selling wine, we offer a sophisticated and convenient shopping service for our customers--providing access to the wines of each of our winery partners. Orders completed on our site are then directed to our winery partners for immediate shipment. We are proud to work hand-in-hand with the finest wine producers in North America, as we share the same particular (and unique!) focus on appellation (wine place of origin).

Q: What are the advantages to placing orders through Appellation America?

A: Appellation America's Mission is to provide unique, compelling original content and encyclopedic information about wine to our readership. We aim to increase the public consciousness, knowledge of, and appreciation for our continent's diverse, unique appellations. Our extensive site features current articles written by a vast network of Regional Correspondents, a detailed encyclopedia of wine information, with profiles of and links to every winery, grape varietal and appellation on the North American continent. We employ and work in concert with the best wine writers in the wine business. This allows our readers to EXPLORE and DISCOVER new and exciting wines. From this informed, educational point-of-view, we add the convenience, ease and direct ability to BUY WINES ONLINE that you've just read about.

Q: How do I place an order?

A: Our process is very straightforward. Simply select your Appellation America products by adding them to the online Shopping Cart whenever you see a 'Buy Now' button on the site. Once you've added a product to the Shopping Cart, it is saved and stored until you remove it. This allows you to continue to browse our site and add other products as you go.

Once you decide that you're ready to finalize your order, simply log-in to or create your account and proceed through the secure, encrypted checkout process, which includes entering your shipping and billing information.

That's it!

From there, once the funds have been processed for your wines, you will be emailed a shipment confirmation (when available), which gives you the tracking number of your package(s).

Q: Can the delivery service leave my package(s) at my door?

A: No. From a legal perspective, wineries must ensure that no wine is delivered to minors, so wine shipments require an adult to receive and sign for the package. For these reasons, you might consider having the wine shipped to a business or commercial location instead of to your home. If no one is home or an adult available to sign for your wine when the first delivery attempt is made, the package generally goes back to the shipping service warehouse, where a second attempt is then scheduled.

Q: Can wines be shipped to my state?

A: Please check the state availability listings on each product, for each winery. These can be found next to the 'SHIPS TO' text at the left-hand portion of the order screen.

Q: What are my shipping options?

A: These are provided during the checkout process. Express shipping options are available at slightly higher rates.

Q: You don't have a winery listed that I'd like to purchase from... What can I do?

A: Please contact us at sales@appellationamerica.com to tell us that you'd like us to add this particular winery to our roster of Winery Partners. Please list any additional information, such as a particular bottling that you are interested in. Thank you in advance for your feedback and input.
