King Estate, located southwest of Eugene, Oregon, is considered the benchmark producer of Pinot Gris in the country. While the winery also makes Pinot noir and limited amounts of Chardonnay, it is mainly credited with bringing the Pinot Gris grape varietal into national consciousness. The winery was founded in 1991 by the King family. The estate itself, at 1,033 acres, is certified organic and includes 465 acres of organic vineyards, as well as 30 acres of fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Visiting the Winery

The King Estate Visitor Center opened in October of 2005. The spacious facility can accommodate over 200 guests year-round, with relaxed outdoor seating in the spring and summer seasons. Highlighted by panoramic views of the Lorane Valley, the Visitor Center combines the wine bar, a fine dining restaurant and conference rooms for private functions.

The King Estate Restaurant opened in May of 2006 and has since become known for its exceptional gourmet menu. The culinary team, led by Chef Michael Landsberg creates wine-friendly cuisine featuring vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers grown in the estate’s organic gardens and orchards.
