Vineyard Notes:
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 2 different blocks of 30+ year-old vines from Cold Creek Vineyards. Cold Creek Vineyard was first planted in 1973 in the Eastern part of Benton County, WA, in sight of the Columbia River Gorge. It is one of the oldest and hottest vineyards in Eastern Washington and has produced some of the longest lived Cabernets in the state.
Winemaker Notes:
This wine was aged for 18 months in 65% new oak, the majority of which was French. Only free-run juice was used for this wine, and only 24 barrels were made. Aromas of black cherries, vanilla, cassis, and cedar lead to a ripe, elegant mouthfeel. Intensely flavored and rich, it is meant for long term aging. The silky tannins provide structure for this wine, and should allow it to age for 8 to 10 years.
