Winemaker Tasting Notes:
Our 2003 Pinot Noir, cultivated in the Amity Hills Vineyard located in the celebrated Willamette Valley, is characterized by a deep ruby, almost purple hue. The wine yields aromas of raspberries and black cherries with delicate earthy undertones evocative of fine Burgundies. The palate is mouthwatering with flavors of ripe berries and spice that follow through from the nose. Our 2003 Pinot is lush and refreshing on the palate with tannins that are inviting for its young age.
Vineyard Notes:
The Amity Hills Vineyard is located in the heart of Oregon’s fine wine region. Situated in the Eola Hills of
Willamette Valley, the Amity Hills vineyard is nestled in an area renowned for growing outstanding Pinot Noir. Ocean breezes from gaps in Oregon’s Coast Range maintain a consistently cool climate, which in combination with an ideal soil composition of Yamhill silt loam, Willakenzie silty-clay loam and the extremely rocky Stony Land soil insure well drained vineyards that produce Pinot Noir of elegance and complexity. Our first release of Pinot Noir from Amity Hills Vineyard displays characteristics of cherries, raspberries and stone fruits in the nose and on the palate, complimented by deeply concentrated color and engaging texture.
