Winemaking Notes:
Our inaugural release Cabernet from the 2001 vintage quickly landed
Cobblestone in the company of Napa Valley’s finest wines, picking up 92
points from Wine Spectator. This follow-up vintage displays exceptional
structure and complexity, indicating that as our young vineyard
continues to mature, the wine we produce from it will follow suit.
The 2002 vintage is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes
harvested entirely from our 25-acre mountain vineyard nestled high in
the
Atlas
Peak appellation of Napa Valley.
Tasting Notes:The 2002 Cobblestone Cabernet begins with a concentrated deep ruby color. The nose instantly reveals
the wine’s outstanding complexity offering aromas of black fruits,
almond and mocha. The intense, velvety palate adds blueberry and
pomegranate, along with the exotic essence of Tahitian vanilla. A long,
spicy finish leaves each sip with lasting hints of nutmeg, clove and
toasty oak.
A natural companion for any red or game meat, this elegant wine also
brings enjoyable contrast and balance to a range of lighter fare.
