Winemaking Notes:
Cobblestone Chardonnay is made entirely from the fruit of our cobblestone-laden family vineyard in the
Arroyo Seco appellation of central Monterey County
As with our previous two releases, the 2005 vintage reflects our philosophy of presenting true varietal characteristics without unnecessary interference. With stainless steel fermentation, French oak aging in a mix of large and small barrels, and very limited malolactic fermentation, the result is the best of both worlds. If you like the idea of crisp Burgundian complexity balanced with the brightness of New World fruit, look no further.
Tasting Notes:
A bright, straw-colored wine, which offers orange blossom, lilac and sweet corn in the nose. The crisp palate adds caramel apple, lemon and clean minerality. A long, dry finish reveals subtle toasty oak. This well-balanced and complex wine will pair remarkably with a variety of dishes ranging from the most delicate Dover sole to a hearty duck cassoulet.
