Wine Recommendation:
Leal Vineyards 2004 Estate Syrah
Tasting Notes:
Is
San Benito the new Rhone? Wines like this one certainly make the case. On the Central Coast, few sites are more suited to growing the noble varietal Syrah than Léal…
Flavors of intense cocoa and chocolate abound in this big, dense, deep purple and nearly black wine. Great with grilled pork, beef, game, or veal.
A Note From the Winemaker:
“Our 2004 Syrah is rich and concentrated while maintaining a silky textured elegance. The goal was to highlight all of the dense fruit, spice and complexity that our vineyard is
capable of expressing and package it with a polished and seamless finish. Well balanced
from beginning to end with flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and chocolate coming through on the pallet. Big and dense, deep purple and nearly black in color. Great food match with lamb, grilled sausages, or a rack of ribs off the bbq.”
– Frank Léal, Owner.
