Salinia Wine Company: winery information
Winemaker: Kevin M. Kelley
Kevin received a Viticulture & Enology Degree from Davis and upon graduating moved to Nuits Saint-Georges in Burgundy, France. Understanding the science, it was now time to learn the philosophy and tradition behind classical winemaking. In Burgundy he worked with Jean-Nicolas Meo at Domaine Meo-Camuzet and lived with Christian Gouges of Domaine Henri-Gouges. He was very fortunate to learn the winemaking craft from both of these great winemakers. Kevin quickly recognized the value of learning from multiple winemakers. With this in mind, he returned to California and joined a fledgling Custom Crush, where he was quickly promoted to facility winemaker. It was here that he worked shoulder to shoulder with several of the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay winemakers that California had to offer. In 2003 he launched Salinia Wine Company. His focus is on making small quantities of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from hand selected, choice vineyards on the Sonoma Coast.
