Von Strasser Winery: winery information
Winemaker: Rudy von Strasser
Rudy von Strasser is a graduate of UC Davis and the first American invited to intern with Bordeaux’s famed Château Lafite-Rothschild. Returning to the Napa Valley, he made wine for the Trefethen and Newton Wineries before founding The von Strasser Winery.
Annual Production: 4,500 cases
Futures
Due to a rise in demand and a limit on the production of von Strasser wine, we have created The Diamond Cartel Futures Club. The Cartel is a way to insure members of receiving their favorite von Strasser wines before they are sold out. For more information, please visit the website at www.vonstrasser.com (linked below).
Our Estate vineyard is fifteen acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Malbec originally planted in 1969. With four soil types and six distinctive micro-climates, this historic vineyard sits on a hillside in the heart of the Diamond Mountain District. Its small fruit and low yields create a beautifully complex and elegant wine with intense, concentrated fruit.
