Wine Recommendation

Duckhorn Vineyards

2009 Merlot, Three Palms Vineyard
(Napa Valley)

Duckhorn Vineyards has stood for the best of Napa Valley Merlot over a long period. Over time various vineyards have been added to the list of those contributing to the various wines, but the Three Plams Vineyard has been been a mainstay since the start.

The 2009 Three Plams Vineyard Merlot is a statement to consistency of expression from the vineyard first used in 1978 for the inaugural vintage. This once again demonstrates it's trademark minerality and red fruits along well structured firm tannins. Notes of fig and currant fill the senses and are supported by spice.

This wine is lighter in feel than the benchmark Stout Vineyard Estate Merlot coming from Howell Mountain and provides a graceful reflection of Merlot from the Napa Valley floor
