Arrowleaf Cellars
2005 Gewurztraminer(Okanagan Valley)
The Alsace clone Gewürztraminer vines that were planted in the Arrowleaf vineyard in 1986 are now at the top of their form, producing a bold wine with a penetrating aroma of spiced orange peel. The palate is rich, with flavours of fruit peel and spiced green apples. Some of the boldness can be attributed to the wine’s 13.7% alcohol; but there is such concentrated fruit here that there is no heat in the finish. The wine is uncompromisingly dry on the finish, making it an excellent food wine. Release date: September 1, 2006. 88 points.
