Wine Background:
This Chardonnay honors the Great Egret. These magnificent birds were hunted to near extinction in North America during the late 1800s and early 1900s for their pure white plumes. Populations have recovered since they were protected by law. The Great Egret is now the symbol of the National Audubon Society.
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
Bonneau's Egret Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown in the heart of the
Sonoma-Carneros appellation. This wine was tank fermented and aged 10 months in stainless steel. The lees were stirred with a touch of French oak to enhance flavor and richness. The wine has bright, tropical fruit flavors and a deep Chardonnay varietal character that refreshes the palate and leads to a clean, crisp finish.
Food Pairings:
Enjoy this wine with creamy cheeses, light pastas, shellfish and poultry.
