Vineyard Notes:
The Estate Pichon Vineyard is located at 1200-1800 feet elevation on the
Santa Cruz Mountains’ Mount Umunhum above Lexington Reservoir. A vineyard in the late 1800’s was maintained by the Delphin Pichon family. Burrell School is proud to be producing wines from this historic site.
Tasting Notes:
"Exceptional. Cranberry, plum,
clove, pepper, spinach and other distinctive aroma notes. Great acidity
for pairing with food, and lower alcohol (13.7%)"
-Dan Berger, Vintage Experiences.
Winemaker Notes:
Our Syrah is barrel aged in American oak barrels, 50% new, for twelve months. Deep, opaque, almost black color followed by aromas of dark loganberries, cassis and licorice. A rich, textured mouth-feel adds extra complexity.
