Varietal Notes:
Cabernet Franc
is one of the 3 main varieties
of Bordeaux. This aromatic red
is gaining much popularity as a single grape release.
Grown at the nearby historic
Hippard Ranch (Est 1882) in Etiwanda, this is from
Rancho Cucamonga’s only Cabernet Franc vines!
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby color, inviting aromas of currants, coffee and dark berry fruit. Medium plus in body, well balanced with full round tannins for silky mouthfeel. Well structured with hints of pepper. Smooth long finish.
Food Pairing Notes:
Enjoy on its own, or pair with flavorful vegetables including eggplant, asparagus, mushrooms, full-flavored cuts of beef, pork, or lamb or roasted duck. Try with your favorite rich, red meat sauce pasta or stews. This 2003 pours well now or will cellar well through 2010.
