A Note About Cucamonga Valley:
Since the earliest days of California winegrowing, the historic
Cucamonga Valley has triumphed to deliver this mysterious red grape to vintners far across the land.
The Filippi family has grown premium Zinfandel for over 77 years. Cucamonga’s sun sloped alluvial foothills of sandy, gravel loam, warm days and cool nights serve as excellent terrain for the old Rancho Cucamonga headtrained vines.
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
2004 Zinfandel comes from the old Rancho Cucamonga vineyards each carrying the 75+ year-old-crown. Dry farming brings very low yields and unique concentrated flavors. Aromas of blueberries, blackberries and tobacco are followed by rich flavors of black cherries and hints of leather. Medium in body, balanced tannins, make this a delightful pour.
