Wine Recommendation:
Joseph Filippi 2005 Grenache Noir, Estate
Tasting Notes:
Grenache Noir (aka Grenache) is the most widely planted grape in the Rhône Valley. Planted at our winery in Rancho Cucamonga (Etiwanda) in 2002, this our first-ever Estate Release Grenache Noir. Vines were from Tablas Creek Vineyard Nursery in Paso Robles nurseries, rootstock fields and grafting and growing facilities. 2005 harvest yielded less than 1.5 tons per acre. Deep ruby color, good fruit, tastes of cherries, raspberries, red licorice and hints of spice. Balanced with excellent structure and firm round tannins. Production was 171 cases only. Bottled July 2006. Alc.13.9% RS 3.6 (wine is dry). $17.95 per 750ml bottle. More info to follow.
