Aside from the vast open space and natural beauty, Owner/Vintner Jim Carter was drawn to Temecula Valley for its high quality wine producing potential. The Temecula wine region is relatively free of vineyard pests, including the deadly root louse, Phylloxera, though the region was one of the first to suffer the wrath of Pierces Disease. Decomposing granitic materials in the light, sandy loam soil provide excellent drainage and most of the vines in the region are planted on their own vinifera roots. Local vintners believe that the granitic soils and the unique microclimate including warm, sunny days and cool nights produce wines with remarkably fresh fruit and excellent varietal character.

Winemakers Jon McPherson and Javier Flores work to produce close to 50,000 cases a year under three labels. The winery is also home to a world-class spa complete with grape seed treatments.

This lavender edged violet-pink wine has seductive notes of strawberry ice cream, oregano, lemon zest, and watermelon on the nose. It is medium bodied with appealing strawberry and currant fruit, tingly, slightly prickly acidity and very moderate alcohol, and a long, dry, and refreshing strawberry/lemon finish.
