Winemaker: Joe Collins (emeritus) / Andrew Morris (apprentice)
Joe Collins has over 35 years winemaking and grape growing experience and is a practiced winemaker. He has lectured at UC Davis Extension classes on white and sparkling wine making and on Pinot Noir production at the Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival. In both 1990 and 1991, Joe Collins was the Individual Grand Champion at the California Wine Tasting Championships. Andrew Morris grew up at the winery and has been working alongside Joe for the last 5 years. He has a keen interest in the scientific aspects of winemaking and is mastering winemaking in the most traditional way by continuing a family tradition.
Annual Production: 1,500 cases
Our vineyard is less than an acre. However, it includes our experimental vineyard that was planted by Joe Collins in the 70's to establish which grapes are best suited to Southern Humboldt. Joe later helped most of our growers to establish their vineyards.
