Winemaker: Ed Harbes IV and Kareem Massoud
With the careful attention of vineyard manager Edward Harbes IV and the expertise of winemaker Kareem Massoud of Paumanok Vineyards, the vines are producing among the most promising wines on the North Fork. The Harbes Family strives to capture the best of farm and family and welcome you to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Annual Production: 1,500 cases
In 2003 the vineyard was planted on a boulder-strewn, south-facing hill near the coast of the Long Island Sound. On the surface is fine sandy loam, but underneath is a layer of rocks and silt, ideal for producing the finest vinifera on Long Island. Meticulous research of the finest vinifera clones of chardonnay and merlot resulted in a carefully chosen selection of outstanding French clones that were planted to produce the most aromatic and flavorful wine.
