Estate Vineyard Acreage
In 2003 the vineyard was planted on a boulder-strewn, south-facing hill near the coast of the Long Island Sound. On the surface is fine sandy loam, but underneath is a layer of rocks and silt, ideal for producing the finest vinifera on Long Island. Meticulous research of the finest vinifera clones of chardonnay and merlot resulted in a carefully chosen selection of outstanding French clones that were planted to produce the most aromatic and flavorful wine.
