Horton Vineyards was founded by Dennis Horton, who began winemaking at his home vineyard in Madison County, Virginia in 1983. The Horton Vineyards, in the Orange County, Virginia appellation, produce what may be the best Viognier in America. Viognier, the thick skinned, loose clustered grape, is perfectly suited for the Virginia climate, and has drawn wide acclaim.
