J.K. Carriere Wines, located in Yamhill County, Oregon, specializes in elegant, focused, high-acid, smooth-tannin Pinot noir. Winemaker Jim Prosser works to deliver Pinot noir exhibiting classic characteristics: movement on the palate, subtlety, complexity, and grace.
Signature wines include Willamette Valley Pinot Noir; Glass, a rose of Pinot Noir; Provocateur WV Pinot Noir; and four single-vineyard WV Pinot Noirs: Antoinette, Anderson Family, Shea Vineyard, and Gemini Vineyard. J.K. Carriere also produces a very small amount of classic, minimally oaked Chardonnay.
Established in 1999, the winery operated from a 100-year-old barn for its first ten years. In 2009 they planted their first estate vineyards and completed a new winery facility on Parrett Mountain, three miles to the east in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Small production allows J.K. Carriere to make the best wine on a barrel-by-barrel basis.
