Forlorn Hope

Comprised of 100% Alvarelhao, native to Portugal but grown in the Alta Mesa sub appellation of Lodi. Harvested at relatively moderate sugar level the wine exhibits dark purple color yet is a lighter to medium in body. In the glass aromatics are pronounced. Once on the palate firm tannins present significant structure that can be seen as devilish to confounding. Dark rich and earthy with the leathery element found in wines held in bota bag.
