Wine Recommendation

Doukenie Winery

2010 Vintner's Reserve
(Virginia)

Doukenie has been making great wines in Virginia for some time and is now in the new Middleburg Virginia AVA. Winemaker Sebastien Marquet has shown his classic French training in creating this beautiful Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. He sees the Merlot from this region of Middleburg Virginia as the real star.

Remarkably dark ruby color hints at the richness and grace to come. Deep, intriguing aromas of violets, cocoa, guava, plum jam and saddle leather. Wonderfully balanced, with moderate alcohol and ample acidity. Dense and rich, yet with feminine, almost silky tannins supporting a symphony of profound flavors, finishing brightly with a kiss of citrus and spice. Miraculously stylish.

A wine that supports special dining occasions gracefully.
