Winemaker: Alex Yakut
Since his retirement in 1989 Alex has honed his skills as a viticulturist and winemaker, making wine for family and friends. Over the years he became very proficient in his craft, so much so that in 2002, when he made his first large batch of wine with unsold Sauvignon Blanc grapes, the wine earned gold medals at the Los Angeles County and Orange County Fairs. It was in this watershed year that he built his barn, the current winery and tasting room, and applied for the many permits required for the operation of a winery. He opened the doors to his winery on Labor Day of 2004.
