Wine Recommendation

Wine:Jost Vineyards 2003 Marechal Foch Reserve (Nova Scotia)

Jost Vineyards

2003 Marechal Foch Reserve
(Nova Scotia)

This is one of the more extracted Fochs to come out of Nova Scotia in some years. The wine displays a deep opaque purple-black appearance with pigment concentration continuing right to rim of the glass. Bitter black cherry fruit aromas are backed by a slight earthiness and well integrated toasty oak notes. In the mouth the wine shows a supple texture without becoming fat or clumsy. Soft velvety tannins make this wine approachable now, but it has the depth of fruit complexity and the acid and tannin structure to see it develop in bottle for another 5-8 years.
