Wine Recommendation

Boxwood Winery

2010 Boxwood, Estate
(Middleburg Virginia)

Boxwood Estate has taken dead aim at creating a set of Bordeaux blend wines that can rival both Bordeaux and California offerings. Great care has been taken from vineyard development to winery practice with this one goal. The results are exciting for this new AVA and Virginia. Boxwood is Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Deep garnet color. Strawberry, plum, violets and lanolin are complexed by cocoa and freshly cut leather. Soft acidity, rich and extravagant with no hotness. Fat, soft tannins with considerable depth and plushness carry bright, complex red fruit and citrus. Imminently drinkable, but its poise hints at good aging potential. (13.5% alc)

A wine set to match any formal dining experience with grace.
