Fredonia Grape Details

Fredonia

Considered to be a close relation of Concord, this red wine grape is very winter hardy. A Native American labruscana hybrid, Fredonia ripens earlier than its relative, and is generally recommended for regions with short growing seasons. Typically wines made from the grapes of the vine have less flavor than Concord. The grape is most often recommended for jelly production and is excellent as a table grape. Fredonia is a parent of the Van Buren and Bath hybrids.
