Quady Winery: winery information
Winemaker: Michael Blaylock
Michael Blaylock, head winemaker at Quady since 1990, received a M.S. in Ag Chemistry with an emphasis in Enology from Fresno State. Prior to joining Quady he worked in the Peace Corps in the Philippines in fisheries and cashew wine production.
Mike particularly enjoys working with the aromatic Orange and Black Muscat varieties, the challenges of crafting a fine port or “starboard,” as Quady calls it, and making Quady’s aromatized (made with aromatic plants) wines: Deviation and Vya. For the Palomino Fino amontillado project, Mike has developed a five tier “Sherry” solera. Purple is his latest project.
