Winemaker: Doug Welsch

Doug earned a degree in biology and chemistry from Illinois State University where he studied to be a teacher. Doug and his Father started Fenn Valley in 1973 and he has served in the capacity of winemaker ever since. Doug's love of wine began during his college years when he and his Father would make wine at home. Doug is often heard making the statement that "Fenn Valley is a hobby that got out of hand." When not working in the winery, Doug enjoys cooking, SCUBA diving, and underwater photography.
