Patricia Savoie is currently completing her second book on wine, working-titled Wine Drinkers' Helper, which is intended for wine lovers at all levels. She co-authored A Wine Tasting Course: The Practical Way to Learn about Wine (1978.), the first book that taught readers how to learn about wine.
Patricia is Co-Chairperson of the Wine Media Guild of NYC, an organization for professional wine writers, and has been the monthly wine columnist for Primetime A&E magazine since 2003. She is a frequent contributor to Wine Enthusiast, including a humorous essay, "Advice for the Winelorn," in the 11/1/05 issue. Several more articles are scheduled for 2007 and 2008.
She is a creator of wine shows and series for Devour.tv, an over-the-Internet channel launching in 2007. She also has been a judge at wine and food competitions.
Until August of 2005, Patricia was the proprietor of a retail wine store in Brooklyn called ‘Big Nose Full Body’, which received much praise in the press: top ratings in Zagat NYC Gourmet Marketplace two years in a row; Village Voice "Best Neighborhood Wine Store in NYC" in 2004; Saveur top 100 in 2005 for "Best Name for a Wine Store"; as well as a NY Sun feature piece on the store in 2005.
Previously, Patricia earned an MA in international politics and an MBA in marketing from the Stern School at NYU, and spent many years as a manager in large corporations.
